Fishing Rod Building Class

The fishing opener is just around the corner and this year you can be ready with a new fishing rod that you hand crafted. Learn how to make and repair graphite fishing rods. In this class you will be building a 6’-6” fast action, medium IM6 graphite spinning rod. You will learn how to install the cork handle, reel seat, foregrip, hook keeper, decals, guides, and tip-top. You will get to keep your rod and gain access to suppliers to build more rods. The basics you will learn in this class can be applied to making spinning rods, fly-rods, and casting rods. Students must be 15 years old to register. When signing up, please specify thread color combination and decal that you would like on your rod. Decal choices: Walleye, bluegill, northern, musky, crappie, smallmouth, largemouth, perch, or sturgeon. Thread color choices: maroon/gold, blue/white, blue/silver, purple/gold, red/white, red/silver, green/white, green/silver, green/gold, or blue/gold. Please specify both choices when you register. If you have taken this class in the past, contact the instructor to discuss building a different rod in class. Please register by Feb 1st (no refunds can be made AFTER this date).
