CABS- Child and Babysitting Safety (Grades 4-8)
Learn the responsibilities of being a babysitter.Topics include starting your own babysitting business, child development, proper feeding & diapering techniques, personal safety, medical emergencies, basic first aid care and fire safety.The CABS book (yours to keep) and the course were developed by the American Safety and Health Institute and approved by the American Pediatrics Association. Please enter through door #13 and bring a snack to class.
About the instructor Lori Hameister
As the owner of Little Bit of Guidance, Lori Hameister brings many years of experience to the training and mentoring she provides in the Early Childhood community.She has worked as an independent trainer for 14 years and contracts with Child Care Resource and Referral (CCRR), the Center for Inclusive Child Care (CICC), Minnesota Association for the Education of the Young Child (MnAEYC), Minnesota School Age Childcare Association (MnSACA) and Eager-to-Learn Online.She provides a variety of youth and adult/family classes for the Rochester Public School District as well as several other surrounding school districts Community Education programs.She is an approved trainer with the Minnesota Center for Professional Development, a Certified Trainer for the American Safety and Health Institute, a Master and Credentialed Mentor and obtained her A.A.S. degree in Child Development at Rochester Community & Technical College (RCTC) in May, 2009. She operated her own family child care business for 20 years in Eyota, MN.
