Acrylic Paint Pouring - Level I
Create fluid, organic designs through the use of acrylic paint and pouring medium. Each piece curated will be unique and original. No two pours are ever the same! This class includes two complete paintings ready to hang on your wall (frames not included). Wear clothes you can get paint on. No experience needed and all supplies are included. Ages 10 and older are invited to join this class!

Buddy & Me Rock Climbing (Grades 2+)
Want a fun activity with your adult? This beginning rock climbing class covers the safety and skills of indoor rock climbing and belaying. Both adult and little will spend time climbing the rock wall. Bigs will belay each other and their littles. Class meets at the new Owatonna Middle School rock wall. Participants must be entering 2nd grade or higher for the 2025-2026 school year. Your favorite adult could be a parent/guardian, grandparent, sibling, your Big, or a responsible friend. Max of 2 participants per adult.A liability waiver will need to be signed and returned to Roosevelt School before class starts or brought to the first day of class in order for participation. The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support class trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instrumental materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

Learn proper storage techniques and explore the three key elements of olive oil flavor. You’ll taste six distinctive oils—from mild to robust—sourced from Greece, Spain, and Italy, accompanied by interviews with EVOO producers. Plus, take home recipes and sample pairings to continue your tasting journey. No two classes feature the same oils, so return students are always welcome! Your instructor’s passion for EVOO began with her first taste of freshly crushed olives on the Island of Crete. She continues to research, taste, and curate unique oils for every class she teaches.

There are over 30 individual muscles on each side of your face, all of which can be strengthened and toned, just like arm or leg muscles. Facial exercises can take years off your appearance by reducing frown and forehead lines, reducing laugh lines, lifting and firming the neckline, making upper and lower cheeks fuller, reduce puffiness and sagging around eyes, improve circulation and nutrient flow into cells and improve lymph circulation. In this live, online class learn simple exercises that will rejuvenate your face. You will need a regular teaspoon for a few of the exercises and a little of your favorite facial moisturizer.

Minnesota's Hooded History

Most people are familiar with the Ku Klux Klan in the southern states with its intimidation and lynchings, but why did the Klan come to Minnesota in the 1920s? Was their goal to have a presence in every state? What were their tactics? Who did they speak against? What specifically happened in Steele County? Our presenter has been researching the KKK in Minnesota for over 12 years and has co-authored an article about the Klan in the Minnesota History magazine. Come and learn about this surprising piece of Minnesota's history.

Posture & Osteoporosis Workshop: Building Better Bones

Have you ever caught sight of your reflection in a window or mirror to see that your head leads the way? Or noticed that your shoulders and upper back are rounded forward? In this live, online workshop, you'll learn simple techniques to improve posture and stand straighter. We'll complete exercises to help flatten the upper back, un-round your shoulders, and flatten your midsection. Learn how to reduce the risk of osteoporosis and how to regain bone mass. We'll discuss the latest research findings on nutrition, minerals, and trace minerals needed for bone health; foods that help and/or harm your bones and more. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will need a resistance band or tube for some of the exercises.
