Bring your creations to life in this 3D printing class. The ancient craft of jewelry making is brought to the modern world using TinkerCad and 3D printers. Students will learn to build 2D and 3D models on the computer using CAD software. They will design and print a pair of earrings, or a pendant in this class. If printing is not completed in class, prints will be mailed home. Please bring a lunch and a drink.

3D Printing: Harry Potter (Entering Grades 2-6)
Kids Classes
Learn 3D design and modeling skills using Tinkercad while creating a wand, then create your own magical pendant. Create fun designs to complete different magical CAD challenges. This course will introduce students to using CAD modeling & design software. They'll also do fun Hogwarts-inspired challenges in TinkerCAD's SimLab. Student-designed pendants will be printed and sent home at the end of class. Printing and material fees are included. If printing is not completed in class, prints will be mailed home. Please bring lunch and a drink.

A Day at the Arboretum
Trips-Tours
Explore 1,200 acres of professionally maintained gardens, rare plant collections and accessible trails. In 2019 USA Today named the Arboretum the best botanical garden in North America! You will be on your own to explore and enjoy the Arboretum. There is a guided tram ride available if you choose to independently purchase a ticket for that upon arrival ($8). There is also an eatery on site that has sandwiches, salads, soups, and beverages. Price includes: Motorcoach transportation and entry fee. No refunds for day trips. Register no later than June 4, 2024.

Acrylic Paint Pouring - Level 1

Have you wanted to try acrylic paint pouring but were not sure where to start? Come and join us in the art! Create fluid organic designs through the use of acrylic paint and pouring medium. Each piece created will be unique and original. No two pours are ever the same! This class includes two complete paintings ready to hang on your wall (frames not included). We will work on flip cup and open cup techniques that are fun for every level. Wear clothes you can get paint on. All supplies are included in the class fee. No previous painting experience or drawing skills required.

In this intermediate level paint pouring class you will explore additional techniques and styles of creating fluid acrylic art. You will practice ring pours, puddle pours, swiping and more! Each piece will be original and unique - no two pours are ever the same. This class includes two complete paintings ready to hang on your wall as soon as they dry (frames not included). Wear clothes you can get paint on. All supplies are included in the class fee. Previous acrylic paint pouring experience is encouraged but not required.

All Occasion Hand-Stamped Cards
Artful Living
Join us in class where we will make 25 hand-stamped all occasion cards (5 cards of 5 designs). These designs may include birthday, thank-you, sympathy, or blank cards. Included will be all the materials you need to make 25 cards, plus envelopes. Tools will be provided, as well as stamps and ink for you to complete your cards. Students should bring their own adhesive of choice. The instructor will also have some available for purchase the night of class. Take-home kit option: Take-home kits are available, but you must register by noon on April 18. Pick-up is at Roosevelt School on April 24, between 8am-4pm.

American Heart Association: Heartsaver First Aid
General Interest
Heartsaver First Aid is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs to understand the basics of first aid and receive a course completion card for their job. This course can also be taken by anyone who wants to be best prepared to act in an emergency. This course trains participants how to recognize emergencies, how to call for help, and perform lifesaving skills.

Whether you are just welcoming a baby into your home or are about to celebrate your baby's first birthday, the first year of life is exciting and challenging! Come with your baby to meet other parents who are discovering the wonder of their child. This class is led by a Parent Educator. Babies and parents stay together throughout class.

Basic Life Support Certification (Adult, Child, & Infant with AED)
General Interest
This Basic Life Support (BLS) training is a certificate-bearing course that trains participants to recognize and respond to life threatening emergencies, such as cardiac arrest and choking, by utilizing techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the automated external defibrillator (AED) device. Your certification will be valid for two years. Registration includes a pocket mask and the potential for an electronic BLS certification card.

Beginners Yoga

Still haven't experienced yoga? This is a great class to familiarize yourself with the art & fitness yoga. This class will consist of learning yoga postures, improving balance, experiencing breath work for relaxation, and an introduction into mind-body stress reduction meditation. This is a great way to experience your yoga practice in a casual, relaxed environment. Katie will lead you each step of the way to build your confidence and leave you feeling refreshed after every class. No prior yoga experience necessary. Bring your own yoga mat to class and a water bottle. For safety reasons, all exercises are done with bare feet.

Beginning American Sign Language

Join us for another cohort of American Sign Language! This course is designed for students who want to learn the basics of American Sign Language. Students will learn the alphabet, numbers, fingerspelling, facial expressions, vocabulary, and simple common phrases. There will also be a small portion of the class dedicated to deaf culture and history of the language.
