Owatonna Community Education

This 8-week functional pottery class is open for teens (ages 13+) and adults. All skill levels from beginning to advanced are welcome. In this class, the basics will be covered briefly starting with slabs and hand-building to get a foundation before transitioning to wheel work. The goal is to allow students to focus on creating functional pottery and advancing their skills. Examples include but are not limited to cups, mugs, bowls, plates, and vases. Everything created and then glazed will be dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. Bring your ideas and questions to class as we adapt to your needs and imagination. Each student will receive a 25-pound bag of clay included in the class fee. Additional clay is available for purchase at the Art Center. All works from this class will be available for pick-up three weeks after the final session of class.

This little owl is adorable and so fun to paint! You will be introduced to a dry brush technique to create this acrylic painting. Just follow along as your instructor shows each step of the process. A class supply list will be provided when you sign up. Wear clothing that is suitable to paint in. This class is for those aged 13+.
