Your instructor, Angela Larson, will guide you step-by-step in the process of creating beautifully decorated sugar cookies that are almost too pretty to eat and even better, they are bee-themed! Angela will provide you with insider tips, techniques, all the supplies needed, and even her personal recipes. Expect to leave the class with your very own box of your newly decorated cookies.
  • Oklahoma! Youth Edition by Rodgers and Hammerstein (Entering Grades K-12)

    Join us as Child's Play Theatre presents Oklahoma! Youth Edition by Rodgers and Hammerstein. In a Western territory just after the turn of the 20th century, a high-spirited rivalry between local farmers and cowboys provides a colorful background for Curly, a charming cowboy, and Laurey, a feisty farm girl, to play out their love story. Their romantic journey, as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road, contrasts with the comic exploits of brazen Ado Annie and hapless Will Parker in a musical adventure embracing hope, determination and the promise of a new land. Rehearsals run June 18-21 AND June 24-28 from 8:30 am-2 pm. Kids should bring a snack to have during the rehearsals. Show will be at OHS Auditorium June 28 at 6:30 pm. Tickets at the door $10 for Adults, $5 for School Age/Seniors, 5 and under free.

Children will embark on a thrilling journey through the cosmos as they learn about the planets, stars, and galaxies that make up our universe. From exploring the surface of Mars to marveling at the rings of Saturn, every moment is a chance for discovery and awe.
  • Pilates for Strength

    This is a great class for all levels! Focus will be on alignment, breathing technique, and core exercises. Movements will strengthen abs and back while stretches will increase your flexibility. Relaxation time at the end of class will leave you "de-stressed" at the end of a busy day! Wear comfortable clothes and bring an exercise mat and water bottle to class. You may attend this class once or twice per week on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays.   • Playful Preschoolers

    These combined-age preschooler classes provide families with current information about the important role of play for growing healthy preschoolers. Play teaches a child how the world works, and gives practice in independent thinking skills helpful in their school years. Children will experience the new "Read, Play, Learn" Curriculum, designed to provide rich literature and vocabulary that allows children to use their imagination and creativity to use play to fully "live the story" and practice new vocabulary. During parent time this class will focus on the social, emotional, and language development necessary for strengthening relationships in families and for school readiness.
  • Pokemania STEAM Adventure (Grades 1-5)

    Work on a stop-motion animated Pokémon-themed film. Pick your favorite characters to star in your mini-movie. The possibilities are endless! Students will build Pokémon-inspired sets and props to create animated game and stop-motion short. Students will also participate in other Pokémon-related STEAM activities. Bring a USB drive.   • Power of Youth (Entering Grades 6-9)

    Power of Youth is a Community Education summer service learning program for ISD #761 students in grades 6-9. Students meet Monday - Thursday mornings throughout the summer and together they plan, design, and implement community-wide service learning projects. Students will have the opportunity to volunteer for a variety of community service projects, including supporting School Age Care, Community Pathways, and the United Way. Additionally, students will initiate a summer fundraiser and choose a local organization as a recipient of these funds in an effort to model how youth build community. Breakfast and Lunch will be included for volunteers. More details will be sent to enrollees as we get closer to the start date.

  • Preschool Experience (Age 3-5)

    Families who enroll in identified parent/child classes, have the opportunity to provide their child with an additional early leaning experience designed for the child-only. To be eligible for enrollment in Friday Child Only Classes, families must be enrolled in any of the following parent/child classes: 34531-34541-34521 Children may only attend this class if they have attended their parent/child class each week. If a family misses their parent/child class during the week, the child will not be expected for the Friday, child-only class. Families may have one exception per trimester to this practice if they have called in for the Parent/Child class with an illness or medical appointment. Tuition will be $35 for the Trimester. This is in addition to the tuition paid for the parent/child class. There is no sliding fee. Child must be 3 years old by September 1st. Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Families will need to re-enroll for the child-only class each trimester when they enroll for their parent/child class. Class size will be limited each section.

Reiki translates to "universal life force energy." By learning Reiki, you will find balance which will stop stress in its tracks. It will also tap into your body's healing power to combat headaches, colds, and other illnesses. In this training workshop, you will learn the history of Reiki, the guiding principles of the practice, the first symbol, and basic energetic anatomy. You will also receive an attunement to Reiki Level I which is a sacred rite to ready your body for tapping into Reiki beyond this class. This series will include an opportunity to both experience and practice Reiki. Your instructor, Shannon, is a Reiki Master, Certified Shamanic Reiki practitioner, and owner of Majestic Tree Healing.

    These special playtimes focus on a specific theme with fun family activities for parent and child. Family activities in art, music, motor skills and math/ science exploration will be prepared each week. Parent/child will stay together for the full hour and explore the planned activities prepared by an Early Childhood Teacher. Activities will be specifically designed for 4-5 year olds. This is a great activity for grandparents to enjoy as well.

  • Spring Roll Symphony: Crafting Crispy & Fresh Spring Roll Delights

    No need to look beyond your own kitchen for restaurant quality spring rolls! Whether you are looking to host a memorable Dim Sum get-together or simply want to create something fresh to welcome in the spring, this is the class for you! Join Chef Tess as she walks you through the process of creating two types of spring rolls bursting with a symphony of flavors bold enough to wake up any and all of your taste buds. Choice of meat (chicken or pork) and veggies will fill the rolls. Two types of wrappers will be used. Participants will be able to customize fillings and seasonings according to taste or dietary preferences. Learn how to wrap, roll, and cook these small delights! Participants will receive a list of ingredients in advance of the class with enough time for shopping and prep. A PDF packet of the instructor's personal recipes from this class will also be included. This class takes place online via ZOOM.
  • Spring Walk through Forest Hill Cemetery

    This walk will introduce you to the serene beauty and history of Forest Hill Cemetery as you learn about the symbolism on the gravestones. Hear some secret stories about a few of the thousands of people interred here. Maybe spot some wildlife. The instructor has researched local history for many years. A portion of the class fee will go toward the Cemetery Association. Please note: the terrain at the cemetery is hilly, with some parts of the tour involving uneven ground as well as walking. Hiking shoes are suggested. Please park at the cemetery entrance on Mineral Springs Road.
  • Stained Glass Mosaic

    Join us at The Green Shack! In this class you will pick out a picture frame and find a coloring page picture online and trace it onto the picture frame. You will then pick out pieces of colored glass and then cut those pieces to fill in the picture. Use as much or as little color as you’d like. When you are all done, we will cover it with epoxy to finish it.
