Yoga Calm for Kids Spring (Ages 4-12)
Yoga Calm for Kids gives kids practice and routine that integrates physical, mental, and emotional development. Children ages 4-12 will learn yoga poses, mindfulness, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques. Please wear comfortable clothing. Mats are provided at the studio. 3D Printing: Jewelry Fabrication & Arts (Entering Grades 2-6)
Kids Classes
Bring your creations to life in this 3D printing class. The ancient craft of jewelry making is brought to the modern world using TinkerCad and 3D printers. Students will learn to build 2D and 3D models on the computer using CAD software. They will design and print a pair of earrings, or a pendant in this class. If printing is not completed in class, prints will be mailed home. Please bring a lunch and a drink.

Basic Life Support Certification (Adult, Child, & Infant with AED)

This Basic Life Support (BLS) training is a certificate-bearing course that trains participants to recognize and respond to life threatening emergencies, such as cardiac arrest and choking, by utilizing techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the automated external defibrillator (AED) device. Your certification will be valid for two years. Registration includes a pocket mask and the potential for an electronic BLS certification card.

This year presenting, “ AN ALL NEW HOLIDAY SHOW”, with new music, new jokes, but the same world-class talent you have come to expect! This year the OZARK JUBILEE will be honoring and paying tribute to our Veterans, and thanking them for their service. The entire second half of the show is a total variety of Holiday music. The Jubilee features Branson’s funniest comedian and world-class fiddler, Doofus Doolittle! Doofus has an all new line up of jokes and hilarious routines this year not to miss! Having performed with several of these artists, Doofus will be sharing stories from some of those legends. CABS- Child and Babysitting Safety (Grades 4-8)

The Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) program from the American Safety and Health Institute provides everything you need to know for safe and successful babysitting. The YouTube “vlogger” style presentation of the video brings a youthful and high-energy spirit to the program content, along with handouts, demonstrations, and additional resources. At the end of the class, students will receive their certification card along with instructions to access a digital copy of the Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS) student book. From getting started with your business to collaborating with parents and children to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips, CABS will help set you up for babysitting success. Students must be present for the entire class and complete achievement of the core learning objectives to receive certification valid for two years. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen.

This is a great 45 minute workout that is sure to make your muscles burn by an instructor-led strength class with hills and climbs. This is a low-impact, toning workout that is a great beginners option. Arrive early to class, bring a sweat towel and a water bottle.

Driver Education '24-'25 School Year
Driver Education
Driver Education Training is required for students who wish to obtain their driver’s license before their 18th birthday. Driver Education Training by state law must consist of thirty (30) hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction. Students must attend the 30 hours of instruction offered on the dates and times listed. Every session must be attended, unless ill, but even then, those hours must be made up. It is recommended, but not required, that students be 15 years old by the last day of class. Registration includes both classroom and behind the wheel instruction. The Owatonna Driver Education program is approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and is taught by certified licensed instructors. This class is for participants who are 14.5 years or older before the start of classes. Please Note: There will be a “Parent Packet” that your child will bring home on the first day of class. This packet will explain all the steps necessary for your child to obtain a permit and license. This packet must be signed and returned to the Driver Education classroom for successful classroom completion. A 1.5hr Parent Class for the parents of a new student driver will be offered at the Owatonna High School. Attendance in this class is not mandatory. More information on the Parent Class will be provided in the Parent Packet mentioned above. Students do not need to attend the Parent Class.

First, discover the hidden gem that is the LeDuc Historical Estate and marvel at the design work of Andrew Jackson Downing and this Civil War-era Gothic Revival home. Then, enjoy a picnic lunch with your fellow travelers as you explore the grounds of the estate. Next, we'll drive to city hall for a guided historic tour of the Old Dakota County Courthouse and finally, end our day along the Riverwalk where you will awe at the Mighty Mississippi and shop 'til you drop in Hasting's Historic Downtown. Home Alone (Grades 2+)

Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a child who is mature and well prepared. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, managing the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take home information and discuss it with their child.

Irving Berlin's White Christmas: The Musical

Veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after WWII. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander. Your trip fee includes a sightseeing excursion on Lake Geneva, a detour to Racine, WI for a guided tour of Lake History & Wind Point Lighthouse, a tour & Kringle Sampling at Lehmann's Bakery, a show at the Fireside Theatre, 2 nights of lodging at the Harbor Shores Resort, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, and motor coach transportation, plus the company of your fellow community members! The instructors are all former and current educators and professionals with vast experience and knowledge as to how to implement the S.M.A.R.T. program in any setting! At the workshop you will: Learn how the brain functions and is stimulated through movement, understand how to look at children developmentally, experience a variety of S.M.A.R.T. activities, participate in make & takes all while reserving time to plan.

Small Business Academy – powered by Co.Starters
Business and Finance
Small Business Academy is a three-month program that provides participants with the knowledge, relationships, and tools necessary to turn business ideas into action. The only requirements to join the program are (1) have an idea, (2) be willing to question, shape, and improve that idea, and (3) be willing to talk about the idea with others. In this facilitator-led, small-group program, participants develop and refine their ideas, critically examine each part, and determine what to do next through real-time feedback from people in the community. This approach allows participants to quickly discover potential problems in their concepts and find viable models more quickly. Participants leave the program with the tools and skills necessary to create a sustainable business. In partnership with the Owatonna Area Business Development Center (OABDC), with funding provided in part by SMIF, DEED, SBDC, and SBA. Scholarships and materials in Spanish are also available.
