    Who doesn’t love a massage? You can’t beat something that feels so good and is good for you, too! . Massage lowers blood pressure and reduces stress for both the giver and receiver! Attend this class and learn how to give your canine friend a massage! We will cover techniques that will help your pet rest, relax, and rejuvenate. Your instructor will also demonstrate ways that massage can calm a nervous dog and even be used to relieve joint stiffness and soreness. about your instructor......Your instructor has been involved with canine(and equine) massage for quite some time!   • Fishing Rod Building Class

    The fishing opener is just around the corner and this year you can be ready with a new fishing rod that you hand crafted. Learn how to make and repair graphite fishing rods. In this class you will be building a 6’-6” fast action, medium IM6 graphite spinning rod. You will learn how to install the cork handle, reel seat, foregrip, hook keeper, decals, guides, and tip-top. You will get to keep your rod and gain access to suppliers to build more rods. The basics you will learn in this class can be applied to making spinning rods, fly-rods, and casting rods. Students must be 15 years old to register. When signing up, please specify thread color combination and decal that you would like on your rod. Decal choices: Walleye, bluegill, northern, musky, crappie, smallmouth, largemouth, perch, or sturgeon. Thread color choices: maroon/gold, blue/white, blue/silver, purple/gold, red/white, red/silver, green/white, green/silver, green/gold, or blue/gold. Please specify both choices when you register. If you have taken this class in the past, contact the instructor to discuss building a different rod in class. Please register by Feb 1st (no refunds can be made AFTER this date).
  • How to Use a Pendulum

    In this class you will learn the history and be introduced to the uses of the pendulum. Many believe that pendulums promote healing with the process of dowsing which seeks out invisible energies. Balancing one's chakras might also be possible with pendulums, as pendulums tend to pick up on subtle vibrations to clear the body and balance mind, body, and spirit. Thus, pendulum objects can help relieve forms of pain whether emotional or physical. Come with an open mind and desire to learn about and experience the pendulum. Pendulums will be available for purchase ($12 payable to the instructor) if you don't have one. 
  • Make Believe and Mythical Creatures (Child /Adult class)

    Parents bring your children (+6 yrs and up) to learn how to make clay mythical creatures. Your instructor will go over the basic techniques to make successful three-dimensional figures out of clay, then students will have the opportunity to make their own creature. Think Unicorns, Dragons & Phoenix’s or make a creature straight from your own imaginations! Aprons will be provided, but wear clothes that can get clay on them and underglazes.
  • Self Healing with Reiki

    Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that incorporates touch in a series of hand positions. In each of these hand positions the Reiki/Universal energy is channeled into the receivers’ aura and body.The benefits of Reiki include stress reduction and relaxation. In this relaxed state the immune system is enhanced and the person is better able to heal and maintain health. Reiki has also been known to relieve depression, lower blood pressure, enhance memory, and improve overall well-being. Scientific research has validated these results and continues to work on how and why it works.In this class you will learn how to perform a self-reiki session including preparation, forming your intention, the hand positions, and how to end the session. Time will be allowed for questions and answers.

    This educational session will provide you with information about how to prevent suicide. It will cover information on the demographics of suicide in Minnesota, signs to look for in people contemplating suicide, ways to respond to those at risk of suicide, and ways to reduce access to means. There will information about local and national resources, including how to access those resources for people of all ages.     Most people are familiar with the Ku Klux Klan in the southern states with its intimidation and lynchings, but why did the Klan come to Minnesota in the 1920s? Was their goal to have a presence in every state? What were their tactics? Who did they speak against? What specifically happened in Steele County? Our presenter has been researching the KKK in Minnesota for over 12 years and has co-authored an article about the Klan in the Minnesota History magazine. Come and learn about this surprising piece of Minnesota's history.
