  • From Dough to Delights: Flatbread Pizza & Pizza Panini

    Apart from cheese and toppings, homemade dough and sauce are the key ingredients used to create mouthwatering pizza. But, what are the key ingredients used to make the homemade dough and sauce? Known as the Pizza Master "Pizzaiolo" in her family and community, our instructor, Tess will help guide you in her latest Pizza class where you will create an amazing flatbread and panini from scratch. On the menu: Flatbread Pizzas, Pizza Panini, and Pizza Sauce. Two of the instructor's personal recipes for two different homemade doughs will be used. One for the flatbread and the other for the panini rolls that will be turned into pizza panini. The instructor will also provide step-by-step guidance and instruction to ensure the process is as simple as possible. Participants will personalize their creations with toppings and fillings of their choosing. Equipment needs: A stand mixer is highly recommended. Sheet pans will be used and no panini press is needed.
  • Goat Milk Soap Workshop

    Come to The Green Shack and make some cold process soap. Everything you need to make a year worth of soap bars is included! Oils (solid and liquid), goat milk, lye, and scents will be mixed to make your one-of-a-kind soap. Cold process soap takes 48 hours to dry and then 4-6 weeks to fully saponify (turn into soap). You'll be able to bring your own silicone molds to fill or use some at The Green Shack.

    Expand your skills with Google Sheets and use this training for a lifetime! Whether it's for work or for play, this class will teach you the comprehensive skills which will turn you from a Sheets novice into a Sheets expert. You will learn to enter, organize, analyze, and visualize your data using Google Sheets! This is a live online class through Zoom. Prior to class, you will be contacted via email with a class link.
  • Home Alone (Grades 2+)

    Is your child ready for the independence of being home alone? Parents need to be sure their children have the skills and maturity to handle the responsibility safely. Whether it is for an hour after school or several hours a day during the summer, being trusted to be home alone can be a positive experience for a child who is mature and well prepared. This class for children will address several topics relating to being “Home Alone” including age guidelines, safe habits, house rules, after school routines, phone calls and door knocks, dog emergencies, personal safety, handling the unexpected, gun safety, severe weather, fire safety, intruders, and first aid tips. Students attend this class independently and should come prepared with a notebook and pen. Parents are encouraged to review the take home information and discuss it with their child.

  • Java Game Coding (Entering Grades 4-9)

    Students will be introduced to object-oriented programming and elements of the Java language while learning to code their text-based RPG (role-playing game). No programming experience is necessary, but familiarity with everyday tasks using a computer operating system (text-editing and understanding directory structures) and keyboarding is required. Bring a USB drive to save your games. Bring a lunch and a drink.
  • Learn to Crochet

    This is a beginners class. You will learn to chain, single crochet, and double crochet. We will start with the very basics of the craft and make a simple scarf or hat. You will be able to choose from a larger variety of yarn colors for your project. The Green Shack will have hooks and extra yarn available for use or purchase. This class is offered on May 1 and May 15. Please indicate at registration if you would like to attend May 1 only ($39 per person), May 15 only ($39 per person), or both May 1 and May 15 ($65 per person).
  • Learn to Knit

    Venture over to The Green Shack and learn how to knit! You will learn how to cast-on, and begin basic knitting and purling techniques. Starting with the basics will result in a simple scarf or hat. You will be able to choose from a larger variety of yarn colors. We believe in the power of play, teamwork, and healthy competition to help children develop essential physical skills and a love for sports.
  • Little Huskies

    Little Huskies is a 4-week summer preschool experience for students that are 4-5 years old who will be in preschool during the 2024-25 school year. Students will have small group, large group, and play-based learning experiences focused on language, literacy, math, social, and physical development. Smaller class sizes will allow for individualized learning and growth. Student must be 4 years old by September 1, 2024. To qualify for this summer preschool experience, students must meet one of the following criteria: Has not yet had exposure to any preschool experience. Has attended preschool but has had a lack of progress in academic and/or social skills based on report from current teacher. Meets any one of the following risk factors that have been identified by MDE: qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch, is an English learner, is homeless, has an IEP, has been identified through screening with a risk factor, or is in foster care. Transportation: Transportation is available. A consistent pick up and drop off address is needed (the pick up and drop off can be different). **Registration for this class closes on May 10.
