Driver Education '24-'25 School Year
Driver Education Training is required for students who wish to obtain their driver’s license before their 18th birthday. Driver Education Training by state law must consist of thirty (30) hours of classroom instruction and 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction. Students must attend the 30 hours of instruction offered on the dates and times listed. Every session must be attended, unless ill, but even then, those hours must be made up. It is recommended, but not required, that students be 15 years old by the last day of class. Registration includes both classroom and behind the wheel instruction.The Owatonna Driver Education program is approved by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and is taught by certified licensed instructors. This class is for participants who are 14.5 years or older before the start of classes.Please Note: There will be a “Parent Packet” that your child will bring home on the first day of class. This packet will explain all the steps necessary for your child to obtain a permit and license. This packet must be signed and returned to the Driver Education classroom for successful classroom completion. A 1.5hr Parent Class for the parents of a new student driver will be offered at the Owatonna High School. Attendance in this class is not mandatory. More information on the Parent Class will be provided in the Parent Packet mentioned above. Students do not need to attend the Parent Class.

Owatonna Community Walking Track Program
Lace up your sneakers and get ready to join us at the Owatonna Community Walking Track at the Owatonna High School! Your registration includes open walking track hours, 5-9pm, from November 6, 2024 - March 7, 2025. Due to sports schedules, hours for the walking track will change on March 10, 2025 and will run 6-9pm until May 2, 2025. This only includes days in which school is in session. Dates and hours are subject to change based on home section games. This program is only available for those 18 years of age and older. You are required to wear clean, indoor-only, walking shoes on the track. There is no running on the track and this registration does not include access to the weight room or cardio room.A senior activities pass (for those 62 years of age and older) will be honored for free admittance to this program. Pick up senior activity passes at Roosevelt School. If you currently hold a senior activities pass, you will need to re-enroll in this program annually, in person, at Roosevelt School.If you register online, you will confirm your fitness waiver through your registration. If you register in-person or via phone you are required to sign a fitness waiver prior to your first meeting on the track.

Childcare Provider Drop-In is an opportunity for in-home childcare providers to bring ECFE to you. One of our ECFE teacher will visit and share circle time songs, a story, and an activity that follows the theme of the book. Families will receive materials with activities ideas for home.

Early Childhood Screening Minnesota State Law requires that all preschoolers be screened once prior to entering public and some private kindergartens. Your child can be screened from 3- 5 years old, or at least a year before entering kindergarten. Early Childhood Screening is FREE, but families still need to "check out" to be registered.

Nestled in southeastern Wisconsin, Lake Geneva is known for its crystal-clear waters, historic mansions, and a vibrant downtown area filled with boutiques, cafes, and restaurants. Your trip fee includes a sightseeing excursion on Lake Geneva, a detour to Racine, WI for a guided tour of Lake History & Wind Point Lighthouse, a tour & Kringle Sampling at Lehmann's Bakery, a show at the Fireside Theatre, 2 nights of lodging at the Harbor Shores Resort, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, and motor coach transportation, plus the company of your fellow community members!
