Basic Life Support Certification (Adult, Child, & Infant with AED)
This Basic Life Support (BLS) training is a certificate-bearing course that trains participants to recognize and respond to life threatening emergencies, such as cardiac arrest and choking, by utilizing techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the automated external defibrillator (AED) device. Your certification will be valid for two years. Registration includes a pocket mask and the potential for an electronic BLS certification card.

Whether you are looking to lose weight, learn the ins and outs of a weight room, build confidence and strength, or join a community of strong women, this is the class for you! Learn the basic principles and proper techniques of strength training and understand the importance of breath support for pelvic floor and core foundation, all in a safe, encouraging community of women. All fitness abilities from beginner to intermediate are welcome! Sign up early as this class is popular and our class size is limited. Please note that there is no class on October 17, 31, November 5, 28.

Music & Me (Ages 3-6 with Adult)
Kids Classes
Did you know that listening to classical music helps the brain develop faster? This class is designed to help do just that for your kiddo! All activities are aligned to music as kids paint, color, dance, craft homemade instruments and play group games. Join us for a musical journey of learning and self-discovery through art and music. An adult must be present for this class.

Nature Based Learning... Meet us at Dartt's Park each week where we'll explore the natural world through hands-on activities, sensory experiences, and playful adventures. From investigating plants and animals to enjoying the changing seasons, this class nurtures a love for nature. An ECFE teacher will lead activities throughout the park, and family will stay with their children during the entire adventure time.

You have the option of purchasing an Owatonna Community Education Gift Card ($10, $20, $25, $50, or $100). Gift Cards may be used toward Adult/Family/Youth Enrichment Programs. For those receiving an Owatonna Community Education Gift Card, you may register for a class by calling 507-444-7900.

Owatonna Community Walking Track DAY PASS
Walking Track Program
Try out the Owatonna Community Walking Track with our all new single day pass! Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and get your steps in at the High School! A day pass includes open walking track hours, 5-9pm, from November 6, 2024 - March 7, 2025. Due to sports schedules, hours for the walking track will change on March 10, 2025 and will run 6-9pm until May 2, 2025. This only includes days in which school is in session. Dates and hours are subject to change based on home section games. Day passes are available for those 18 years of age and older. You are required to wear clean, indoor-only, walking shoes on the track. There is no running on the track and this pass does not include access to the weight room or cardio room. If you register online, you will confirm your fitness waiver through your registration. If you register in-person or via phone you are required to sign a fitness waiver prior to your first meeting on the track. Lace up your sneakers and get ready to join us at the Owatonna Community Walking Track at the Owatonna High School! Your registration includes open walking track hours, 5-9pm, from November 6, 2024 - March 7, 2025. Due to sports schedules, hours for the walking track will change on March 10, 2025 and will run 6-9pm until May 2, 2025. This only includes days in which school is in session. Dates and hours are subject to change based on home section games. This program is only available for those 18 years of age and older. You are required to wear clean, indoor-only, walking shoes on the track. There is no running on the track and this registration does not include access to the weight room or cardio room. A senior activities pass (for those 62 years of age and older) will be honored for free admittance to this program. Pick up senior activity passes at Roosevelt School. If you currently hold a senior activities pass, you will need to re-enroll in this program annually, in person, at Roosevelt School. If you register online, you will confirm your fitness waiver through your registration. If you register in-person or via phone you are required to sign a fitness waiver prior to your first meeting on the track.

PUNCH: Boxing for Aging

Get your strength back! Let's punch your way to great fitness (your choice: with or without gloves!) Improve movement, muscle coordination, balance, cognitive strength, and more. Join a community of hope, healing and FIGHT BACK against aging, parkinson's and degenerative brain diseases. This class can be taken in person or virtually online if you have limited transportation / mobility!

Are you a pickleball enthusiast ready to make the next step toward improvement? Join our resident clinician Paul Krumrie as he leads you through a lively session of drills that help you become a better player. There will be time to practice what you have learned when we move to supervised game strategy. Each session is 90 minutes and you may sign up for both sessions. You should bring your own paddle, but we will have some to borrow at the clinics. This class is designed for adults who have previously played. You know how to keep score, you know the basic rules, and your hand-eye coordination is good. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes and be ready to move!

These combined-age preschooler classes provide families with current information about the important role of play for growing healthy preschoolers. Play teaches a child how the world works, and gives practice in independent thinking skills helpful in their school years. Children will experience the new "Read, Play, Learn" Curriculum, designed to provide rich literature and vocabulary that allows children to use their imagination and creativity to use play to fully "live the story" and practice new vocabulary. During parent time this class will focus on the social, emotional, and language development necessary for strengthening relationships in families and for school readiness.

Want a fantastic way to try out all facets of fitness, strength and cardio? You pick the times for three Bootcamp classes, three Power Pumps, and five Cycling classes that fit your schedule! Your package includes 11 45-minute classes. Bootcamp (pick three) Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30am or Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays at 6pm. Power Pump (pick three) Tuesdays at 4:05pm or 5:05pm, or Fridays at 6:15am. Cycling (pick five) Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30am or 6pm; Tuesdays at 8:15am, Saturdays at 6:45am or 8:30am.

The best fitness mix with cardio, strength and relaxation. Build your own schedule with four Kickboxing classes, four Power Pumps, and three Yoga for Strength classes. Package includes 11 45-minute classes. Kickboxing (pick four) Wednesdays at 8:15am or rotating Saturdays at 9:30am. Power Pump (pick four) Tuesdays at 4:05pm or 5:05pm, or Fridays at 6:15am. Yoga for Strength (online - pick three) Mondays or Wednesdays at 4:15pm.

Families who enroll in identified parent/child classes, have the opportunity to provide their child with an additional early leaning experience designed for the child-only. To be eligible for enrollment in Friday Child Only Classes, families must be enrolled in any of the following parent/child classes: 34531-34541-34521 Children may only attend this class if they have attended their parent/child class each week. If a family misses their parent/child class during the week, the child will not be expected for the Friday, child-only class. Families may have one exception per trimester to this practice if they have called in for the Parent/Child class with an illness or medical appointment. Tuition will be $35 for the Trimester. This is in addition to the tuition paid for the parent/child class. There is no sliding fee. Child must be 3 years old by September 1st. Registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Families will need to re-enroll for the child-only class each trimester when they enroll for their parent/child class. Class size will be limited each section.
