Women's Strength Training
Strength training is a great way to improve your metabolism, tone your body, and improve everyday movement! Whether you are looking to lose weight, learn the ins and outs of a weight room, build confidence and strength, or join a community of strong women, this is the class for you! Learn the basic principles and proper techniques of strength training and understand the importance of breath support for pelvic floor and core foundation, all in a safe, encouraging community of women. All fitness abilities from beginner to intermediate are welcome! Sign up early as this class is popular and our class size is limited.Please note: Class on November 4 will be held at the Owatonna Middle School Weight Room from 5-6pm.

Buddy & Me Rock Climbing (Grades 2+)
Want a fun activity with your adult? This beginning rock climbing class covers the safety and skills of indoor rock climbing and belaying. Both adult and little will spend time climbing the rock wall. Bigs will belay each other and their littles. Class meets at the new Owatonna Middle School rock wall. Participants must be entering 2nd grade or higher for the 2024-2025 school year. Your favorite adult could be a parent/guardian, grandparent, sibling, your Big, or a responsible friend. Max of 2 participants per adult.A liability waiver will need to be signed and returned to Roosevelt School before class starts or brought to the first day of class in order for participation. Basic Life Support Certification (Adult, Child, & Infant with AED)
General Interest
The American Heart Association’s Basic Life Support class trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instrumental materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

This course is designed for individuals interested in becoming a community education instructor for youth, adult, and/or family classes. Whether you have expertise in arts and crafts, health and wellness, technology, languages, or any other field, this workshop will guide you through the process of becoming a successful community education instructor. No teaching license required! The Adult/Family Programs Coordinator will lead you through the process and then you'll have time to ask questions and fill out course proposals if you choose to do so.

Medicare does not cover all medical costs, and navigating its coverage can be complicated and confusing. This class will help you understand Medicare parts A, B, C & D and cover how Medicare supplement plans or part C (Advantage plans and/or Medicare Savings Accounts) can help. There will be time at the end of class to answer individual questions. This class is strictly educational and focuses on getting you the information you need to move froward confidently with Medicare!
